Recovery Challenges in Biomass Drying<\/h3><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_2 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p><span>Given the difficulty in achieving results by increasing revenues, companies are turning more and more to cutting costs.\u00a0<\/span><strong>Reducing energy consumption<\/strong><span>\u00a0has become the target for many companies.<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>In sectors such as the\u00a0<\/span><strong>cement, particleboard, and pulp &amp; paper<\/strong><span>,\u00a0among others, energy is demanded mostly in the form of heat, but frequently most of it is lost throughout the manufacturing process or directly to the stack.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the\u00a0<\/span><strong>cement industry<\/strong><span>, most plants cool the exhaust stream of the pre-heater tower from 400\u00b0C down to 120\u00b0C, so it can be cleaned in bag filters, dissipating all that heat into the atmosphere. An increasing number of plants is finding ways to\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.advancedcyclonesystems.com\/en\/clinker-cooler-and-pre-heater-dedusting\/\">recover that heat<\/a><span>\u00a0which implies to clean the gases.<\/span><br \/><span>\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>In the\u00a0<\/span><strong>panel board industry,<\/strong><span>\u00a0many factories cannot run at full capacity due to glowing particles carry over to downstream equipment, such as direct heated dryers (particle board), which can cause fires. The trigger for the fly ash to be considered \u201chazardous\u201d lies frequently in its high PH due to the hydraulic lime injection. Whereas it reduces HCL and SOX in the flue gases, it is responsible to turn the fly ash alkaline. When the lime reacts with these gases, it forms a solid byproduct know as \u201clime ash\u201d.
